Missing Game Night and Other CatastrophesBy Locke on March 4th, 2011
Hey guys, I want to apologise for missing game night. In my defense, I do have a legit excuse. This morning, due to a virus that has slowly been eating away at my registry, my OS crapped out. It refused to boot. Despite all my best efforts, I couldn’t even salvage my files on my hard drive, due to the fact that I didn’t have enough space on my hard drive for another OS to be nudged in. For now, I’m running Ubuntu(Linux), due to me not wanting to deal with the horrors that is my Campus networking again. I’m trying to figure out how to run LoL with Wine, and any help from the fans would be well appreciated. For now, please be patient with me, and I hope to play with you guys soon. -Locke |
if anyone knows how to run LoL on Ubuntu, i would be greatful as well, my buddy ruined his computer trying to partition his harddrive with both Linux and Windows, and is now stuck with just Linux, and he now plays LoL on my computer, which is not right, cause i want to play LoL on my computer
At least it isn’t a Mac…
LoL is possible to run under wine with a bit of tweaking. If I can figure out how I got it working in the first place, will try to post a guide somewhere.
@Rob
Trust me, you’ll be the first to know when a Mac client comes out. 😉
@Onerios
I’ve done a bit of research on it, and the newest patch has made it more difficult. Ence is coming with my recovery disks on Friday, but this means I won’t be able to play Thursday. I’m really tired of how Windows XP doesn’t play nice my campus internet, so I’d prefer to run linux.
hey locke u plan on playing tonight
Ubuntu is nice and all, really smooth. It’s just not very compatible with like, ANYTHING cool.
