Battlefield Heroes is a completely free online shooting game. It’s basically a much simpler version of the other Battlefield games. You still capture control points and the such, but it’s a little different. There’s only three classes, the soldier, the gunner, and the commando. Basically, the solider supports others with an area healing medkit, the gunner has a bazooka, and the commando has a sniper rifle and the ability to stealth. The gunner and the soldier play almost identically, while the commando trys to be like a spy/sniper type thing with not much success. You can’t switch classes in the middle of a game like most other shooters, you’re stuck with the character you created. You can create more of course, but switching between them takes more work than it should. The main draw of Battlefield Heroes (other than being completely free) is that you actually gain levels. You collect EXP from shooting, killing, capturing flags, and a lot of other stuff. It actually almost feels like and MMO. You even get to customize the look of you characters, but just about all of the outfits cost actual money. If you like shooters like Battlefield 2 and Team Fortress 2, then you might want to give Battlefield Heroes a try. It won’t cost you anything, and the theme song is catchy. |
I just started playing this game and I really like it. It’s it a bit light in all respects but other than that it’s not too bad!
The theme song is really catchy! I whistle it 24/7 now.
The Gunner and Soldier really play quite differently. One can rocket jump, sprint (aoe for team mates), and throw kegs. The soldier can heal (aoe for team mates), shoot burning bullets, see enemies despite behind buildings, and they have no movement speed buff as the other two classes due. The game actually gives alot of customization options available, just need to level up.
