I really wish I had more time to make this one. Well, more time, and the desire to actually draw. I really forced myself to finish this one. That just happens with some comics I guess.

I’m beginning a project tonight called “Where Did You Go Wrong?” and the first comic is your newest. I honestly do not get the joke, and it’s probably because I don’t know anything about Monkey Island. If I had, perhaps this would be the funniest joke of my week, but I know nothing and as such my week is no different.
Here’s what the strip needed: First, Encifer should be the character who rambles about Monkey Island and the secret and whatnot while Locke silently watches. The punchline is drastically changed with the final panel nixed and in its place a beat o silence for a panel, followed by Locke saying, “What the heck did you just say?” or something to that effect. This hits both halves of the audience with the Monkey Island lovers knowing that everything said was silly and relating to it, whereas the casual non-Monkey Island lover is at least allowed to partake in the joke by saying, “Oh, I’m glad I’m not the only person who didn’t get it!” You zoom a comic this far over someone’s head and they aren’t going to want to come back next week to see what else they won’t get.
I am thoroughly confused by Parade-Rainer. I don’t think any troll would be stupid enough to spend THIS much time trolling (there’s this thing, it’s called “outside,” I hear it’s pretty cool) but on the other hand, he can’t be serious either. I have no idea what Monkey Island is, and I actually assumed it wasn’t a reference at all, but I still “got the joke.”
It truly saddens me that there are such energetic trolls out there. Go to college, join the Masons, throw yourself into your work, get yourself into a girl, DO something that actually benefits you beyond the little endorphin spike you get when people reply to your troll comments.
