One Final EffortBy Locke on September 8th, 2010
Today I want to speak to you about a hopeless game, one that was very hard on my nerves and yet the greatest game I have played yet. The game was set as such. On Team Massive Pwnage was Ence as Malphite, Tikara as Malzahar, and yours truly as Gangplank. Opposing us was a team built up of a Nunu, an Akali, and a Warwick. The game started as any other Twisted Treeline would. I took top alone and Ence and Tikara took bottom lane. There were exchanged kills, Akali gaining one, I gaining another. Thanks to a failure of judgment on my part, Akali managed to kill me. As I waited to respawn, I watched in horror as she farmed her way into a killing machine. Fast forward twenty minutes, we are down to our inhibitors, our last tower, and our nexus. In a twist of fate however, the three of us managed to bring akali down, ending her killing spree and allowing me to get enough gold for some real firepower. Slowly we began fighting back, beating them in every team fight, but never limping away with enough strength to push a lane. In our lowest hour, Ence and I were ganked by all three enemy champs, and they stormed our base to take our last tower. Giving up, I threw up my arms. To my surprise, Tikara made her way to the enemy and unleashed a wave of attacks, gaining a triple kill just as they took our last tower and turned towards our nexus. Ence and I both cheered. Hope restored, we restarted the cycle of teamfight/live/upgrade until we were fully geared. Gradually, we managed to take top lane, killing a tower after a teamfight and retreating to kill the minions attempting to end our game. There was a final teamfight, once again ending in our favor. Seeing our victory in sight, I raced across the treeline to their inhibitor, destroying it, and then turning on their nexus, all the while being mauled by super minions, only to down it before they could kill me. The game was over, we emerged victorious. A point I made to Ence was this: Good hunting. -Locke |
For anyone who wants to look at the screen shot of the game, follow this link. Names have been blocked to protect the innocent. 😛
Damn nice job there you three, though with that many kills why did you have a maldy?
He still should’ve gone with Starks
Starks adds 40% AS and 20% Lifesteal along with -20 Armor Aura
Which overall does add more dps than Malady Locke 😛
~The more you know
Well, its very simple. I had 3 bf sword variants and a phantom dancer for my damage and crits. Despite pumping out damage, my bloodthirster just wasn’t doing the job keeping my health up. I realized that with malady, I could attack really quickly, flooding them with crits, while keeping myself alive. I chose it over starks because I was the only melee dps. Ence pretty much was vaporizing them with well timed ults and such, but his auto attacks weren’t that great. And starks on Malzahar isn’t really effective. I think malady gets a bad rap, its very effective but only on the right champs.
Well if you ever wanna play the game with me my user is shukaku15
Morph, I actually was carrying Starks before I changed it out, it just wasn’t as effective for some reason. I don’t know why, but Malady is justifiable on some characters, Shaco for instance. I wouldn’t put it on WW though. I know Malady gets a bad rap, as does Tiamat, but it really depends on the character. Also, Warwicks and Akali’s escape mechanics were countered by the Dot placed by Malady.
HOLY… Must have been a great game. Malady is ok on Shaco, I find some items a lot more better with Shaco. I feel your pain man, I lost game after game with Shaco. I would rake up the most kills on our team, towers downed, and most minions killed. Then someone had to leave or they just plained fed the other team. 🙁 Only then with my cousins playing I finally won a couple of games. It was a nightmare.
