Locke wrote this one. He says it’s about City of Heroes. I’ve never played it myself, but I’ve heard mostly good things about it. I always wanted to try it out, but then Champions Online came out and I played that instead. And THEN DC Universe Online came out. So much fun.

yup, thats the free to play model, its not actually free to play which is what I hate about how it is advertised. the correct term is the micro transaction model rather than the subscription model. micro transaction models are becoming so popular because it is actually far more profitable. spending a few dollars here and a few there, you forget how much you spend. I just hate them because they get advertised as free to play and so you get a bunch of 12 year olds playing the game and none of them even pay attention to the tutorial levels and ask stupid questions every 5 minutes… sorry i will stop my rant about “Free to Play” before I get angry.
Dude, I totally agree with you, actually both of you, also champions online is quite fun
This is why LoL is so great
I agree totally with sherman – F2P games like LoL are the best – I’ve spent more money on LoL than the only other F2P I play – DDO.
f2p should be FREE TO PLAY f2p games are NOT and i mean NOT supposed to have BUYABLE CONTENT if it does it is NOT FREE TO PLAY and should NOT be advertised as such this could be considered FRAUD(if it isnt it should be) and if these companies didnt have 5 lawyers for EVERY employie someone would have SUED them by now and yes I WILL CONTINUE TO OVERUSE CAPITALS AND MISPEL SOME WORDS ON PURPOSE.
As long as the main content of the game is free its not fraud to say the game is free to play. It’s a crappy way to go about it but it is popular now. The only games i find this acceptable with are games like LoL where you still have access to all the characters and all game changing material by just playing the game. I could care less if people want to pay to make them look good, I still have access to what I want access to without being gimped by people with more money than me.
Most of the stuff that costs real money is typically cosmetic stuff, and that’s fine with me.
Exactly, cosmetic and quicker access is fine. Just nothing game breaking.
Agreed. LoL has it right. Cosmetic changes ftw.
Paying for power = Not (truly) F2P
