Omg, i do this all the time, especially when its a dungeon with a monster spawner. Of course when it has the spawner i usually reopen the wall and start placing torches everywhere so i can open the chest(s).
Wouldn’t that actually be the wrong way to do it? The way I read it, you’re stuck with them once you’ve seen them, so I was thinking – does an aggressive charge sound reasonable?
The way im thinking of it, they work like most other aggressive mobs, where they only come after you if you are within a certain range, usually you can spot most mobs before they can spot you within their range, giving you time enough to turn away. If Endermen are an exception to this, i guess its best to stock up on diamond swords and cooked food and hope for the best.
This is actually directed at TheEverling’s post regarding Enderman’s behavior… but the site won’t let me respond to that post.
Notch says Enderman has the ability to teleport to you if you are too far. So you can never outrun it, and you can’t even hide in your house since it can move blocks. It’s either kill it, die, or avoid the situation entirely by not looking at it.
Also directed at Everling’s post on Enderman behavior, I believe they teleport nearer to you once you look away, so don’t look away from them, they’ll only get closer.
Yes one day I was at my farm and there was only ONE chicken, I looked at it into it’s black, blank, evil eyes. Then….. The game froze the and music sounded like nails on a chalkboard. It lasted like that until I closed minecraft. My conclusion is that Endermen are dark, evolved chickens.
Beware my friend.

Yeah, that’s what I do. I make a mad dash for the spawner and just cover the room with torches haha.
lol, that was great! Locke avoided starting a new feud!
Yeah, he caused exploding creepers. He’ll end up arming skeletons with AK-47s
I wonder how Locke would react to Endermen…
Endermen haunt my dreams.
Mine too… Im going to treat Endermen like charged creepers, you see one and instantly turn the other direction and hope its not following you.

The more I play, the more I fear mobs. It’s weird.
