EVE Online has tornados. In SPACE. I have yet to see any space volcanos, but I’m keeping my eye open.
This is one of those comics where I had the first and the last panels done, but not the middle. I just couldn’t figure out what was happening in that second panel.

Tornadoes? Eve does not have Tornadoes. It doesnt even have weather. You can get weather on planets, but otherwise, there is no difference in space besides wormholes. (which you dont find in normal places)
There is a mission Arc where you have something called a Device. The description is “This is a thing. It does stuff.” Several times during the arc you enter a deadspace pocket which has… Space Tornadoes. While they are just graphic backdrop, it does look a bit unusual.
I thought someone might ask that haha. I don’t really have a good answer except that the big ship would take up more panel space. Though, I guess you could say that Ence wanted to use his smaller ship because it can reach higher warp speeds 😛
:/ you do know that the catalsyt has a higher natural warp speed than most small frigates due to being a destroyer class ship. My destroyer (different one) has a warp speed of 6 AU, while most frigates hit 3.5 or 5
You could get yourselves a Thorax Cruiser, and then you have prime target for jokes involving Compensating for Something. (When you look at a Thorax, you will know what I mean)
(not meaning to post like 6 times but) I haz skills in warp speed, so i go a bit faster than average….and my type of frigates dont go very fast in warp :/

and the “Tornadoes” you saw, might have just been a bunch of clumped space debris, the background tends to be odd like that.

Catalyst has a warp speed of 3 AU and an Atron frigate has 6. I just double checked : P
