Rook
Today’s strip was inspired by comments from the previous comic. That happens sometimes. Or I’ll get an idea while writing a blog post. That’s always very convenient. I got at least ten epic ideas while writing this.
Well, no, not really. I wish.

So THAT’S how they move!
hahaha thank you now chess makes soo much more sense to me!
It’s hard to see, but there are archers inside the tower, and that’s how it attacks,
Haha, that’s a good point. How do these castles move is one thing, but how do they actually attack stuff? Archers are good, they could probably just run over pawns and horses too.
now just tell us how the horses move in L’s…
yes I agree hahaha
oh sweet! my gravatar works now! ^_^
*high five*
It’s simple, the commanders of cavalry are required to move in tactical formations, and since they can’t play chess to learn their tactics, they play a game known as Go, in which a common move is to place a stone down in the other end of the L, which was then adopted by the knights of chess. Or they are all just fanboys of sir Lancelot. You take your pick.
Cavalry always have to move in formation, so they put that in the game? That’s kinda cool.
Yup. I found it out when I took my time machine back to when chess was invented. But I had to leave right after I got there. Not exactly a good idea to be camping the middle of a battlefield, after all. Unless you’ve got even better technology like, idk, a megabuster.
