I’m not really surprised that I can’t pick up every single thing in an MMO, but I can still be sad about it. The main, overriding feeling I get when playing Elder Scrolls Online is “this feels strange.” It’s weird not being able to pick everything, it’s weird not being able to slaughter entire villages (if you’re into that sort of thing) and it’s weird seeing other people jumping around. Real people! It still totally feels like playing an Elder Scrolls game, but it’s a STRANGE Elder Scrolls game.

It’s more a generic mmo than an elder scrolls game sadly… I hate the fact that there are more than one chosen ones out there >=I Elder scrolls did always put us in the centre as the overpowered madman
well the one thing that’s foremost in my mind of the elder scrolls game is the modding community once people realize they can’t mod the game they realize that it is not elder scrolls and it will go free to play in 6-8 months
That’s a pretty good point. Even I’ve made mods for those games. I’m completely okay with the mmo being different though because I know it has to be. And I’m sure they’re still wokin on an Elder Scrolls VI… right?
You can mod the game, just only the UI, no gameplay or texture mods. You have to remember that it’s an MMO, with multiple players playing constantly in the same world, run on a single massive server. It’s just not possible to mod the game in the same way you would a game designed solely for single player use.
