I like how this one came out, but I also kind of don’t like it. I don’t know. Sonic’s wereworlf arms aren’t big enough.
Sonic Unleashed has too much talking, and the night levels have rather wonky controls, but it’s still pretty fun.

Basically, Dr. Robotnik does something bad and Sonic gets turned into a werehog thing everytime the sun goes down. He goes back to normal when it’s day time again.
I couldn’t like this comic. I wanted to, but I couldn’t. It was boring. No, for a Sonic comic, it was extremely boring. First, the title. The title needed more of an edge to it. “Slow Down, Sonic” is far, far too simplistic to be fun. It’s just there for the sake of being a title. We read the comic and we see, “Sure, Sonic is slowed down. Okay, ‘Slow Down, Sonic.'” Not funny.
Secondly, the top panel is dull. It looks like a Sonic sticker pasted over a lifeless stock background. If the point of the comic is to imply that Sonic goes from super speed to super slow, the first image of Sonic should give the impression of speed. A: Sonic’s feet need to be a blur of movement and, B: The entire panel needs to be blurred to give the illusion that Sonic is moving extremely fast. All I see is Sonic in a stride that’s slow and casual enough to be caught in a photo without looking out of focus. Sonic already slowed down before the change.
Next, the second panel is worthless. There needs to be something more than just “Now it’s nighttime.” We’ll be able to figure out that it’s nighttime without a panel needed to allow us to cope with such a change. The second panel needed to just show Sonic being pulled to a hault or a crash or something as he’s changing into a Werehog. Something dramatic to build suspence, (as much as can be built in a three panel comic), so that the final panel hits harder.
Yes, I’m being brutal here, but it’s because you decided to take on Sonic and you didn’t nearly do anything to really slam him. That’s like deciding to do a comic of George W. Bush and just have him pick his nose. Sonic Unleashed gave you the chance to knock the ball out of the freaking park, but you let it go by in favor of a simple walk to first. Don’t be afraid to really rip apart a game that you know lends itself well to ridicule and that the fans expect to be ridiculed. Take off the kiddie gloves and stop pulling your punches. More on “Lack of Edginess” later.
parade-rainer. you strike me as one of those guys who had something go bad in their life so they go on the internet to try to hurt someones self esteem. sure, its not their greatest comic but its pretty funny to me. just because you vegetate on Sonic Unleashed so that you can point out every flaw doesnt mean everyone else does. Please kindly go ruin someone elses day.
His comments on the last comic pretty much explained it all. He keeps coming back, because he wants a months worth of Massive Pwnage comics about him. His e-peen is non-existent, and he clearly bases his self-worth on having comics readers talking about him.
Hmm…you missed the point of what I was saying again. I didn’t ask for a month’s worth of comics about me, I stated that I’m willing to take every ounce of punishment that anyone wants to dish out at me. I have no problem being hated, especially by the comic writers themselves. I know the guys, so if they want to come after me, I have no problem hiding from them. I said I don’t care if they do a month’s worth of comics slamming me as an example of them going off on someone, even if that happens to me be because I’d like to see them go off on someone.
In terms of “did you seriously”, nope, I didn’t have anything go bad with my life, nor do I ever go around trying to hurt someone else’s self-esteem. I doubt any of my comments really did much to hurt Ence or Locke anyway, (if they were, then that says a lot). I just got bored one night and a friend suggested I go about making comments on a bunch of these comics because he said it’d make HIS day better, so blame me for doing what I can to make my friends happy. What a terrible man I am.
Also, I never played Sonic Unleashed, I’ve never seen anyone play the game, and I don’t have to. I’ve seen three or four reviews and a handfull of short gameplay videos and that’s more than enough to know every detail about the game. Sonic is just one of those easy targets that needs good slams against him. And if you don’t think Sonic deserves that amount of dislike, then he needs a comic supporting him.
Basil, please explain to me what an “e-peen” is, because I have no clue. I’m no genius, I just get bored at 5 am on occasion. I don’t base my self-worth on having anyone talk about me, otherwise my self-worth would be really low. I base my self-worth on a bunch of things in my real life seperate from the internet, so commenting here doesn’t affect it whatsoever.
P.S. I’m commenting backwards through these comics in case anyone hadn’t noticed, though I originally read them from the beginning and went straight through.
Parade rainer, i wish ence had a blocking system…we dont want to read your BS comments and opinions, unless its positive, shut the %$@! up. Massivpwnage is awesome, so go get a life and make sure to have a good day.
i disagree, while i don’t even bother to read Parade rainer’s comments, (because of a combination of length, and glancing over them makes them seem really whiny) we should be giving comments and opinions that are negative as well, but only if they’re constructive. anywho, actually getting upset over his comments are silly, just don’t read them.
Parade, you would make a good college professor .-. Really, I think you’re taking this a little too seriously… you sound like you’re giving a professional opinion with every comment. something tells me people will stop disliking your comments so much if you just didn’t insult things very openly and make them take up a bunch of the page…
Well, i suppose thet if i played the game i would get the joke. But as i don’t…
Belexar, a great frame of reference (or, at the very least, an entertaining read) for the new Sonic game, can be found at:

Encifer, does Sonic become a Werehog because of the day to night transition? Or more sinister reasons?
Basically, Dr. Robotnik does something bad and Sonic gets turned into a werehog thing everytime the sun goes down. He goes back to normal when it’s day time again.
Much like me, in real life, on a Tuesday, when I have been playing Super Smash Bros Melee, in the nude….

Parade sufficiently ruined on account of rain.
