Finals, and other things of Burden!By Locke on December 17th, 2008
As you may have noticed, many of the comics coming out are Ence’s, written by him and such. I’ve got a few scripts floating around my computer, but I haven’t had the time to develop them because I’ve been doing stuff for my finals. Not that I don’t want to, it’s just that some things such as these require much more time then I had originally planned. Trying to bring Alice out from the shadows has been a challenge. She’s a great character, but she hasn’t been quite fleshed out yet. I’ve got a few side-stories floating around in my head, and they haven’t surfaced onto any pages, but I’m sure we’ll see Alice coming out of the box much more often. The dragonball movie is sure to be Epic Fail. At first I was somewhat excited for it. Until I saw Goku’s actor. And the trailer. And Piccolo’s lack of green. Looking at this movie gives me one thing and one thing alone. The impression that Big Hollywood decided to add some Pizazz to that tired old story. Add some flair, and new age values, and awesome CGI. Well you know what, Hollywood? You don’t understand us at all. You did it to Doom, you did it to Resident Evil, and now you’ve done it to Dragonball. We are not looking to be wowed when we go to the movie incarnations of these things. The original media already did that. What we’re looking for is a living, breathing interpretation of what we have already come to know. Why do you think those Harry Potter movies are so successful? That last movie had a DBZ battle that I remember rereading more than six times before. You don’t need to rewrite it. Don’t. Ever. And if someone who is one of the writing staff for the American version of Death Note comes across this blog, know this. If you botch this one and only chance to redeem yourselves for all manga fans everywhere, they will hunt you down like the godless vermin you are. If you need to see how a well made game/anime interpretation SHOULD be made, please go see the FIRST Mortal Kombat movie. Fans love it. And fans paid to watch a god-awful sequel to it and STILL praise the original. -Locke |
Locke’s anger here is warranted. If you’re a fan of Dragonball, and have seen that trailer, you share our feelings.
BUT LOCKE, I WANNA HEAR ABOUT THE PUPPY!
What about the Resident Evil Degeneration film? What do u think of it?
The CG film? I liked it. Critics were talking about how bad the CG was, and how the plot kinda sucked, but overall, I really liked how it followed the official canon. Not all of the Alice jedi nonsense. Leon is a much more charismatic character than Alice anyhow. He was a BAMF in that movie.
