I’ve played Settlers of Catan a few times. I’ve settled on occassion. It’s all right. I suspect that the group of people you play it with has a large effect on how “fun” it is.

Very much so. Its also fun on the Xbox360 if you haven’t tried it there.
My friends and I tend to make silly trades in the game through house rules where you can trade anything. I’ve traded all resources I collected each turn for 10 turns just so that i could settle on 1 tile =P
I used to work at a board game store in 2007. It was my first job and it was pretty cool selling games and getting to play them to teach customers what they were about. We all had customized nametags on lanyards with nerdy quotes on them about the games we sold. Since I was a newbie, my name tag said “I have wood for sheep.” because apparently in Settlers of Catan you could trade resources from person to another or something like that. (The dice version of the game was the shit BTW. Loved it.) Unfortunately for me, I didn’t realize that I was the butt of a cruel prank by my boss. I asked her what it meant not ever having played Catan and not realizing the immediate “dual-meaning” of the phrase. I got laughed at for about a week.
Geez, lol. I haven’t played the Dice version, but I love Catan myself with the right people playing.
It’s all worth it if there’s sheep collecting involved.
Only if you want to hate your friends and have your friends hate you. XD Aside from that its a freaking awesome game.
